Salesforce seller intelligence: what the filings show
Salesforce’s strategic priorities
The fiscal 2026 10-K lists five growth priorities: deepen existing customer relationships through cross-selling and upselling, extend geographic reach, build industry and new-product offerings, expand the partner ecosystem, and reduce customer attrition through customer success programs. In the 2026 proxy letter, Benioff said the company raised its fiscal 2030 revenue target to $63 billion after a strong start with Informatica.
On the August 26 call he described the platform as four layers: data, apps and semantics, agents, and the interface. A seller whose product connects to one of those layers can show where it fits in the architecture Salesforce presents to its own customers.
The full Databahn report maps each priority to the executive who owns it and the programs that fund it.
What Salesforce’s executives are paid to deliver
Fiscal 2026 bonuses were funded on two equally weighted measures, subscription and support revenue and non-GAAP income from operations. A strategic multiplier of plus or minus 25% was tied to Agentforce and Data 360 adoption and to customer success and retention. Results came in at 100.1% and 101.9% of target, and the payout was 103.3% (2026 proxy).
For fiscal 2027, performance options pay out on two equally weighted metrics: Agentic Work Units, which count tasks completed by AI agents in production, and Agentforce and Data 360 annual recurring revenue. Benioff’s fiscal 2026 equity award was 100% performance-based. Leaders are measured on agent usage, so a pitch that raises agent volume or Data 360 adoption lines up with how they are paid.
The full Databahn report connects each incentive metric to the executives measured on it and the outcomes your solution can move.
Salesforce spending and capital plans
Capital expenditures were $594 million in fiscal 2026 and $316 million in the first half of fiscal 2027 (10-K; 10-Q). In March 2026 Salesforce began a $25 billion accelerated share repurchase and sold $25 billion of senior notes in eight tranches maturing from 2028 to 2066 (Form 8-K, March 11, 2026). The board’s February 2026 authorization allows $50 billion of buybacks.
The Databahn IT Budget Forecast puts Salesforce’s 2026 IT budget at $2.81 billion, up from $2.78 billion in 2025. It estimates $1.31 billion of that for new IT projects and $286.7 million for artificial intelligence, with $1.87 billion going to external providers.
The full Databahn report breaks the IT budget into its spending categories and shows where new-project dollars are concentrated.
Acquisitions and integrations
• Regrello Corp., October 2025, $818 million: AI-native business process automation (10-K). On the August call Benioff said Agentforce Operations runs on the Regrello platform.
• Informatica, Inc., November 2025, about $9.6 billion: data integration, governance and master data management. It contributed about $456 million of revenue in Q2 fiscal 2027 (10-Q).
• Qualified.com, Inc., April 2026, $1.2 billion: agentic AI marketing (10-Q).
• Fin, formerly Intercom, agreed June 2026 at about $3.6 billion (10-Q); completed September 10, 2026 (Salesforce).
• Contentful Global, Inc., about $1.5 billion in cash, agreement May 2026 (10-Q); completed September 1, 2026 (Salesforce).
• Listen Labs, AI customer research, announced September 29, 2026 (Salesforce); approximately $2 billion, as reported by techstrong.ai.
• Loops, AI analytics, to join Tableau; announced October 12, 2026 (Salesforce).
• Braze, approximately $5.66 billion in enterprise value, $47.50 per share in cash; expected to close in fiscal 2028 (Salesforce, Oct. 20, 2026).
Eight deals in a year leave a lot of integration work: each acquired product has to be connected to Data 360, Agentforce and the Salesforce sales motion.
The full Databahn report details where each acquired business now sits and the integration programs that came with it.
Salesforce technology and AI initiatives
Agentforce annual recurring revenue reached $1.5 billion in Q2 fiscal 2027, and customers ran 3.2 billion Agentic Work Units in the quarter, up 97% from Q1 (Q2 earnings call). On August 26 Salesforce and Anthropic announced Claudeforce, and Milano said it would reach general availability at Dreamforce. At Dreamforce, September 15 to 17, Salesforce launched AIforce, an interface layer that brings Salesforce data and workflows into Claude, Slack and other tools, and Koa, a CRM reasoning model built with NVIDIA.
Databahn analysis of 985 Salesforce job postings (August 7 to October 20, 2026) found 59 with “Forward Deployed” in the title and 235 that list Claude among the development tools. The Databahn Technographic Profile detects Workday, SAP S/4HANA, ServiceNow, Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, Okta, CrowdStrike, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and Cursor in its environment.
The full Databahn report maps the complete technology stack, by function, with the incumbent in each category.
Risk factors and pressure points
The 10-K risk factor summary leads with security breaches at Salesforce or its cloud, data center and other third-party providers. It also names service disruptions, failure to realize benefits from acquisitions, a longer and more expensive sales cycle with larger enterprise customers, and regulation of AI, cloud computing and cross-border data transfers.
One of those risks played out on September 16, 2026, when a global outage hit hundreds of Salesforce instances during Dreamforce. The company traced it to an internal login service (International Business Times).
The full Databahn report ties each risk theme to the internal owner and the remediation work underway.
How vendors get approved at Salesforce
Salesforce runs a risk-based third-party risk management program covering vendors, service providers and other external users of its systems (10-K, Item 1C). Its security policies follow National Institute of Standards and Technology and International Organization for Standardization frameworks. The company holds SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3, ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018 and CSA STAR attestations, and it runs routine internal and external penetration tests whose results go to the board’s Cybersecurity & Privacy Committee.
Employees complete mandatory security training, and the committee also hears from an outside information security consultant. Any vendor that touches Salesforce systems falls inside this program.
The full Databahn report outlines the review stages a new provider passes through and who signs off at each.
Who owns security and data decisions
The Cybersecurity & Privacy Committee, chaired by Neelie Kroes with Parker Harris, Amy Chang and David B. Kirk, met eight times in fiscal 2026. It oversees the cybersecurity program, privacy and ethical use of technology, and holds primary responsibility for the company’s AI policies (2026 proxy). The Audit & Finance Committee, chaired by Sachin Mehra, reviews disclosure controls that include AI-enabled processes.
The 10-K says the Chief Infrastructure and Trust Officer reports to the Chief Engineering & Customer Success Officer, and the Chief Information Security Officer reports to the CITO. That engineering role was vacated on August 6, 2026. Rohan Kumar now leads Global Engineering and the Salesforce Platform, including Security (Salesforce bio); the current CITO reporting line is not disclosed. Iain Mulholland is EVP and Chief Information Security Officer, leading the company’s global cybersecurity and product security strategy (Salesforce).

Systems and business transformations
Starting in Q1 fiscal 2027, Salesforce reorganized how it reports subscription revenue into Agentforce Apps and Data 360, Headless Platform, and Other, “to reflect the evolution of our product architecture” (10-Q). The board’s Business Transformation Committee, chaired by Oscar Munoz, oversees the move to an agentic enterprise operating model meant to raise operating margin (2026 proxy).
Restructuring cost $586 million in fiscal 2026, mostly employee transitions and select data center exits (10-K). State filings show 133 more roles cut from October 5, 2026 in Washington and San Francisco (The Next Web). Management’s fiscal 2026 control assessment excluded Informatica and Regrello as new acquisitions, and the Q2 10-Q reports no material change in internal control over financial reporting.
The full Databahn report covers which systems are mid-migration and where the next replacement decisions fall.
Shareholder pressure
At the May 28, 2026 annual meeting, a stockholder proposal for cumulative voting in director elections failed with 14,366,031 votes for and 595,803,890 against; the board had recommended against it. Say on Pay passed with 493,864,228 for and 117,716,717 against. The amended 2013 Equity Incentive Plan, adding 34 million shares, passed 463,629,512 to 147,908,314 (Form 8-K, June 1, 2026).
Among directors, John V. Roos drew the most votes against (40,064,925), followed by Robin Washington (36,317,035) and Mason Morfit (35,106,845). The Lead Independent Director wrote that stockholder conversations in fiscal 2026 focused largely on strategy and AI governance (2026 proxy).
The full Databahn report explains how investor focus on AI governance shapes the approval path for new spending.
Salesforce locations by territory
Fiscal 2026 revenue split 65% Americas ($27.2 billion), 25% Europe ($10.0 billion) and 10% Asia Pacific ($4.3 billion). In Q2 fiscal 2027 the United States accounted for about 93% of Americas revenue (10-K; 10-Q). Salesforce occupies about 1.0 million square feet of leased and owned property in the San Francisco Bay Area and runs data centers in the U.S., Europe and Asia under co-location leases (10-K, Item 2).
Its India workforce passed 17,000 in 2026 (Tech in Asia, May 20, 2026), and on October 19, 2026 it committed $1 billion over five years to Spain, with a new Madrid headquarters for EMEA South (Salesforce). Databahn analysis of 985 open roles found the largest clusters in San Francisco (150), Bangalore (70), New York (62), Washington (61) and Dublin (55).
The full Databahn report shows which teams and decision makers sit in each hub.
What Salesforce management told analysts
On the August 26, 2026 call, Robin Washington raised fiscal 2027 revenue guidance to $46.1 billion to $46.4 billion, including about $200 million expected from Contentful and Fin. She held non-GAAP operating margin guidance at about 34.3% and guided Q3 revenue to $11.42 billion to $11.5 billion. Q2 revenue was $11.35 billion, up 11%.
Milano said Salesforce is reaching 15,000 account executives and still has 1,200 more to hire before year end. Washington said the $25 billion accelerated repurchase should retire at least 14% of shares outstanding.
