On January 10, 2016, Amazon announced the availability of its cloud-based email and calendar service.
Companies can integrate Amazon WorkMail with their Simple AD instance in order to leverage corporate directories when sending email to individuals or groups. Customers can also book resources such as meeting rooms and AV equipment using this service.
Amazon is supporting Outlook and Apple Mail email clients as well as Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync supported clients for iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire, Kindle Fire Phone, Android, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry 10 (does anyone still use a BlackBerry?).
Amazon will face a lot of competition in the email and calendaring space with Microsoft and Google already being the established leaders #1 and #2. Read the full article here.
