Over the past 12–18 months, Disney’s Board has seen notable refreshment at both the chair and director level. Longtime director and Chair Mark G. Parker departed the Board on January 2, 2025, after about nine years of service. In his place, James P. Gorman, Executive Chairman and former CEO of Morgan Stanley, was appointed Chairman of the Board effective January 2, 2025, after joining as a director in February 2024.

In terms of additions, two key figures joined in early 2024: Sir Jeremy Darroch, former Sky CEO, became a director effective January 9, 2024, and Gorman’s own board appointment became effective February 5, 2024. Looking slightly forward, Disney has also nominated former Apple executive Jeff Williams to join the Board, with his election expected at the 2026 annual meeting, which will expand the Board to 11 members.
